Reimagining Education as Discipleship

BROTHERHOOD and BELONGING - As students enter the program, they are joining a band of brothers, an intimate cohort of young men that will spend four years working, praying, learning, and growing together.

APPRENTICESHIP - We are adopting an apprenticeship model of education.  All young men enter the program as Apprentices, and develop a portfolio of meaningful work that will earn them promotion to the Journeyman and the Master stages.

PURPOSEFUL CURRICULUM - The program includes a rigorous curriculum based in the humanities, the study of history, the Great Books, theology and Scripture.

WHOLISTIC EDUCATION - This is a wholistic education aimed at the Hands and Heart, as well as the Head.  The course includes hands-on service projects and spiritual practices that shape the whole man.

MENTORSHIP - Each cohort will be led by a team of dedicated men who combine a knowledge of the subject-matter with a passion for discipleship.

Students enter the program as Apprentices, joining a cohort—an intimate team of young men and mentors—that will together make the journey from Apprentice to Master.

The Valor Humanities Program has designed a unique curriculum designed to accomplish its mission of discipleship, a curriculum that is based in the Great Books tradition, that emphasizes the study of Scripture, and that involves spiritual practices and service projects.
