“Providing opportunity for people to experience God’s love and watch God do the rest.” 

This statement has been the heart of what Play as One has been doing since 2014.  The ministry of Play as One has been providing opportunities for our community to experience God’s love and God has done amazing things in people’s lives.  With that said these last 7 years have been one of much learning, much listening and honestly, good-old-fashioned hard work as Play as One has been used to impact the hearts of our students, their families, and this community with the love of God.

Across our community and across our nation we have seen more and more families feeling demoralized and torn by the decay around us and asking where is the hope.  More specifically, parents are essentially torn to meet their children's spiritual needs, training and balancing life’s challenges. Where is the Hope? Our hope is not found in what laws are passed or who governs us or what great things we do as a nation or as a community.  Our hope is found in the power of God working through the hearts of His people exercising their faith in community.  That is where our hope is in this world, that is where our hope is in life.

Play as One is a discipleship program that partners with amazing ministry teammates like Emmanuel Faith and Fellowship of Christian Athletes with the intention of meeting this important need of hope for our families by using the platforms of sports, arts, vocation, and education to disciple children and equip families right here in Escondido.

In 2014, 15% of our programs impacted non christian families with 14 commitments to Christ and we had 18 ministry volunteers.  In the last year, our programs have consisted of over 50% non christian families with over 80 commitments to Christ and over 100 ministry volunteers excessing their faith in our community by serving over 1000 families.

This next year “Play as One.” will also be partnering with an amazing board of directors and ministry teammates locally and nationally. A major focus for our “Play as One” team in 2021 will be going deeper in the ministry to impact Escondido with God’s love. We would not be able to accomplish this goal and our mission without God’s blessings and the support of our generous donors and partners. In the 2021 year, Play as One is aiming to raise $330,000.00 to go deeper in impacting this community of Escondido.
